MDT Magazines: Reduced Height with No Reduction in Performance

MDT understands that, when it comes to magazines, bigger is not necessarily better. That’s why their magazines are designed for reduced overall height compared to the industry standard. MDT 10-round magazines are approximately ¾” shorter than standard AICS 10-round magazines. And they’re designed with MDT’s unique Double-Stack-to-Single-Feed transition, featuring two internal ribs that help reduce friction between the cartridge and magazine body, providing a smooth transition from a double-stack to single-feed at the top of the magazine.

MDT AICS-pattern metal magazines are manufactured from high-strength steel that’s nitride-finished, and they’re Cerakoted for maximum durability and performance. These bar-raising mags are available for short- and long-action rifles in a variety of calibers, specified below. If you’re looking for smooth-feeding, easy-loading magazines with lower profiles than the industry standard, look no further than MDT.
Short-Action Magazines

.223 Remington: 10-round capacity
.308 Win & 6.5 Creedmoor family calibers: 5- and 12-round capacity
6mm BR and family calibers: 10- and 12-round capacity
Long-Action Magazines
.300WM, .338LM, and 300 PRC calibers: 5-round capacity based on magnum rounds
NOTE: 300WM can also be used for 7mm, 30.06, and 6.5×55 calibers; however, in some cases, the feed-lips may need to be bent. The maximum cartridge overall length that will fit in this 3.715” magazine is 3.615”.
BINDER PLATE DETAILS

· Magazines with front binder plates are compatible with rifles equipped with AICS-pattern bottom metal or chassis systems. The binder plate holds the cartridges back from the front of the magazines and guides them past the bottom of the feed ramp. The maximum cartridge overall length (COAL) that will fit in this magazine is 2.870”.

 · Magazines without front binder plates allow a maximum cartridge overall length of 2.960”. These are compatible with all AICS-pattern bottom metal and chassis systems, but most common actions, such as Remington 700 and Savage 10/11, will require modifications to the receiver (i.e. notching out the bottom of the feed ramp) to prevent the bullet tips from catching on the bottom of the feed ramp.
